Husband and wife duo Jason Eckerson and Kate Hamm opened Fish & Whistle in June 2022 after gaining extensive experience cooking in several regions of the country. Jason most recently served as sous chef and purchasing manager at Eventide Restaurant while Kate’s most recent gig as pastry chef was with the James Beard nominated restaurant  Leeward. Here, Kate’s approach to desserts earned her a separate James Beard nomination as Outstanding Pastry Chef.

Together Kate and Jason bring their finely honed culinary skills, love of fresh food and good company to their new venture in downtown Biddeford. Not your traditional fish & chips shop, Fish & Whistle uses a classic format to showcase the very best of Maine seafood.

 
 
 
 

We love living in Maine, and want to preserve all of its goodness for future generations. We source all of our fish and seafood from Maine and New England and choose to serve species that are more plentiful.
